Burglary at a property in Crawley Road


Serial 0865 of 23/08/2013 relates to a burglary at a property in Crawley Road, Horsham.
 
Sometime between 1930 hours on Thursday 22nd August and 0400 hours on Friday 23rd August, a property in Crawley Road, Horsham has been broken into.
 
It would appear that the offender/s were able to gain access through the front door and have been able to remove a padlock from a door within the property which was found on the floor.
 
DVD’s, Blu Ray’s and Playstation games have been stolen; however it would appear that nothing else has been taken at this stage.
 
Police are appealing for any witnesses to call 101 quoting 0865 23/08/2013.

Burglary at a property in Farhalls Crescent, Horsham.


Serial 1379 of 09/08/13 relates to a burglary at a property in Farhalls Crescent, Horsham.
 
Sometime between 0900 hours and 1820 hours on Friday 9th August, a property in Farhalls Crescent, Horsham has been broken into.
 
It is not known exactly how the offender/s were able to gain entry, however two small windows had been left open, but no damage was found to any windows or the front door.
 
Several items of jewellery were stolen, as well as some cash.
 
Police are appealing for any witnesses to call 101 quoting 1379 of 09/08/13.

Police investigate linked house burglaries in West Sussex

Detectives in West Sussex are searching for burglars believed to be responsible for six recent house burglaries in which jewellery has been taken.
The offences have all been carried out by forced entry during the daytime at addresses in Southwater, Horsham and Crawley.
Between 10am and 2.30pm on Friday 21 June entry was forced at the rear of a house in Cedar Drive, Southwater. £1000 cash and £3000 worth of jewellery were stolen;
Between 8am and 2.30pm on Thursday 4 July a house in Keats Close, Horsham was entered via a rear door. and jewellery valued at £100 was stolen;
Between 8.45am and 1pm on the same day a house in Heath Way, Horsham was entered by smashing glass in a rear door and several thousand pounds of jewellery were stolen;
Between 10am and 1.45pm on the same day the front door of a house in Downland Drive, Southgate, Crawley, was forced, and £1000 in cash and jewellery valued at approximately £2000 was taken;
Between 9.50am and 2.45pm on Monday 8 July entry was forced through a front window at a house in Mercury Close, Bewbush, Crawley, and bank documents, and jewellery valued at £1000, were stolen.
Between 7.20am and 5.20pm on the same day entry was forced through a front window at a house in St Francis Walk, Bewbush, and cash £150 and an as yet unknown amount of jewellery was stolen.
In this burglary, police enquiries have traced a witness who had seen two men, both described as of Asian appearance, both of thin build, aged 30-40, one with short dark hair and wearing a cream white suit, and the second wearing a dark long sleeve shirt, approaching the address. They were both wearing gloves.
Detective Sergeant Dave Grover of the West Sussex Priority Crime Team said; "We are linking these offences because of the similarities in method and forensic evidence.
"If you were in those areas on the days in question and saw anything suspicious please contact us via 101 quoting Operation Sherman. You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
"But most of all we would like people to contact us urgently via 999 as soon as they see anything suspicious around properties. We would rather get there quickly, if only to find that there was nothing to worry about, than wait to hear when it may be too late."

Burglary - Station Road, Horsham


Serial 1265 of 22/06/13 relates to a burglary at a property in Station Road, Horsham.
 
Sometime between 1215 hours and 1745 hours on Saturday 22nd June, a property in Station Road, Horsham has been broken into.
 
It would appear that the offender/s were able to gain access via some double French doors which had been left unlocked at the rear of the property.
 
Approximately £500 was stolen, as well as loyalty cards and bank cards.
 
Police are appealing for any witnesses to call 101 quoting 1265 of 22/06/13.

Incidents


Serial 0974 of 15/06/13 relates to a burglary in Jasmine Court, Horsham.
 
Sometime between 1400 hours and 1500 hours on Saturday 15th June, a burglary has occurred at a property in Jasmine Court, Horsham.
 
It would appear that the offender/s entered the property through an insecure door whilst the occupant was still inside and were able to steal a wallet which had been left in the bedroom.
 
A male was seen to be loitering beforehand and is described as white, approximately 20 years of age, slim build, and 5’10 in height, wearing a red jacket and carrying a rucksack.
 
Police are appealing for any witnesses to call 101 quoting 0974 of 15/06/13.

Serial 0377 of 15/06/13 relates to a break to a shop unit in Blatchford Road, Horsham.
 
Sometime between 1800 hours on Friday 14th June and 0800 hours on Saturday 15th June, offender/s have broken into a shop unit in Blatchford Road, Horsham by breaking the glass on the front door.
 
It would appear that nothing was taken, however in one of the rooms keys were found on the floor and in another a filing cabinet had been searched.
 
Police are appealing for any witnesses to call 101 quoting 0377 of 15/06/13.

Serial 1447 of 17/06 and 0555 of 18/06 both relate to a theft of VW badges from the centre of all four wheels of two VW vehicles. One had been parked in Cambridge Road and the other car had been parked in Arthur Road.
 
Both incidents occurred overnight and two males were seen in the area at the time.
 
Police are appealing for anyone with information to call 101.

Bogus Callers - Beware!!


Serial 0513 of 11/06/13 relates to bogus callers calling at an address in Hills Place, Horsham.

It would appear that two males entered an address in Hills Place, Horsham at around 1125 hours stating to the occupant that they needed a new boiler. The males then said that it would cost £2300 to fix and that they needed the money quickly in order to fix it, they asked the occupant to write out a cheque to herself so that they could take her to bank and she could withdraw the money.
 
The occupant was in the process of leaving with the males to attend the bank when a cleaner arrived and called Police. Unfortunately the males made off straight away.
 
The first male is described as white, 25-30 years, short dark hair, wearing a white polo shirt with blue writing on it and jeans.
 
The second male is described as white, 25-30 years, wearing a white t-shirt with blue writing.
 
The males were seen to get into a Silver Peugeot and drive off at speed towards Guilford Road, with the second male driving.
 
Police are appealing for any witnesses to call 101 quoting 0513 of 11/06/13.
