Burglary

Between Friday 3rd August at 2000 hours and Saturday 4th August at 1110 hours a shed has been broken into on the grounds of a property along Broadbridge Heath Road.
The shed door had been ripped off its hinges, but luckily nothing had been stolen.
There are several simple methods you could try to make your shed and items more secure, including;
  • Property marking your items, which means if anything is taken it will make the items harder to sell on - a UV marker pen can be obtained through your local PCSO.
  • If you are storing expensive items, such as ride on lawn mowers, then you could try bolting these to the floor using a strong chain - again this won't stop the item from being taken, but it will make it harder for offender.
  • Try using a strong bolt on the front of the shed door.
If you think you need any crime prevention advice, then you can contact your local PCSO through the Sussex Police Website.

Cold Callers - Beware

Please be aware that there are cold callers operating in the Horsham District stating that they are working in conjunction with BT.
They are saying that they are installing new equipment for only £1 a month.
BT have been contacted and have said that it is a fraud and that the telephone number being used is a fake and that they are probably operating from abroad.
Remember: If it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is! Also, if you are in doubt always check with the company.
