Horsham district burglaries

Residents warned following series of Horsham district burglaries
22 November 2012
Police investigating a series of burglaries in the Horsham area in recent weeks are encouraging residents to be extra vigilant.

In the past three weeks several burglaries have taken place. In almost all cases the breakings have occurred while the residents have been away from their home.

Detective Sergeant Kevin Scullion of West Sussex CID said: "Extra patrols will be taking place in the run up to Christmas but I would ask residents to be extra vigilant during the winter season.

"We would specifically request that residents securely lock their doors and windows and due to the early hours of darkness in the afternoon leave on a light to give the appearance of the home being occupied.

"If you have a burglar alarm or security light please ensure that it is activated."

Since there have been 12 burglaries and attempt burglaries.
Latest activity has been on the A283 corridor between Steyning - Storrington - Pulborough between 4 pm and 7 pm.

Anyone with information about any of the burglaries please  contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting Operation Malloy or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
